Bipin Gupta, Ph.D., MBA - President & CEODr. Bipin Gupta has more than 28 years of experience in the field of immuno-histopathology. He obtained his Ph.D. in India and worked as an Asst. Professor for 3 years. He was awarded a NIH fellowship to do Postdoctoral research at Stanford Medical School. After finshing his fellowship, he worked for a few biotech companies in the bay area. During this time, he developed a number of breakthrough products for the IHC market, still considered gold standards in the immunopathology field. Dr. Gupta is the author of 24 original research papers published in peer review journals. Prior to starting Diagnostic BioSystems, Dr. Gupta obtained his Executive MBA from Golden Gate University. Currently he lives in Danville, with his wife Verna and two children, Kuren and Neena. |
Kathy Yokobata, Ph.D. – Sr. Scientist and Lab DirectorKathy Yokobata joined Diagnostic BioSystems in December of 2008. She has more than 18 years of biotech industry experience developing and commercializing reagents and applications for life science research in molecular and cell biology, molecular genetics and immunology. Prior to joining Diagnostic BioSystems, Dr. Yokobata has held management and scientific positions in R & D and Operations at Fluidigm Corporation, Guava Technologies, Inc., Bachem, AmCell Corporation and Becton Dickinson. She is the author of numerous scientific and technical papers and two patents. Dr. Yokobata received her B.S. in Chemistry from Stanford University and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from UCLA. |
Mary Daniel, M.Sc. - Director of Sales and Marketing, Quality Assurance and Regulatory AffairsMary Daniel joined Diagnostic BioSystems as Director of Sales and Marketing in January of 2007. She has over 15 years of sales, marketing, and management experience in the cancer diagnostics/antibody industry including over 8 years with Zymed Laboratories Inc. After several years in cancer research at Huntington Medical Research Institutes in Pasadena, CA, Mary began her industry career at Dako Corporation as a Technical Services specialist. Over the years she has held several sales positions including National Sales Manager and Director of OEM Sales for various clinical diagnostic and antibody/immunochemical development companies in the United States. |
Saul Ship, Ph.D. - International MarketingSaul Ship has over 25 years of marketing and management experience in the diagnostics industry including 14 years with Bayer Diagnostics. After several years of research in cell biology at Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children, he began his industrial career as Educational Director for Bayer in Canada. He has held several marketing positions at Bayer, including 5 years in Paris as International Marketing Director. His worldwide responsibilities included their Histology/Cytology Systems. Since leaving Bayer, he has helped many diagnostics and biotech companies develop and market their products internationally. Dr. Ship is responsible for setting up and managing Diagnostic BioSystem's distributor network outside the USA. |
Jack Harrington, Chief Financial OfficerChief Financial Officer Jack Harrington brings a wealth of financial acumen to his crucial role at Diagnostic BioSystems. His expertise ranges from strategic planning, financial modeling and finance department operations to cash management, budgeting and financial analysis. Mr. Harrington is a seasoned financial management executive with 20 years of experience earned in the service, manufacturing and real estate industries. He has led financial teams at Cerida Corporation, Franklin Management Systems, Inc., Danis Group, Zoll Medical Corporation and The Badger Company. Mr. Harrington is a graduate of Northeastern University and holds an MBA from Babson College. |
